DELSU JAMB Cut off Mark 2017

After the federal government scrapped out the POST UTME examination, which all candidates must participate before been admitted into their school of choice, the Joints Admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) becomes the ONLY exam, which candidates must participate in, to be admitted into any Federal or Private Tertiary institution in Nigeria. JAMB decided to set 180 and above for candidates applying for Universities, and 150/160 for Polytechnics, Colleges of Education. This means that the Delta State University cut of mark of JAMB is 180.

Candidates always asked that they why did is it, that even if they scored 180 and above in UTME JAMB, but was not still given the admission to study their desired course. Here is the simply answer.

Universities always put in consideration first, candidates with higher JAMB scores for admission. Which means, candidates with lower scores, even though they might have meet the school’s cut off mark of 180, may likely not be admitted. The honest truth when it comes to admission into Nigerian Universities is this:, The higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted.

DELSU Departmental Cut off Mark 2017

All UTME candidates who selected DELSU as their preferred institution, should be aware, that the Delta State University does not really have a specific cut off mark for ALL courses. Each courses do have different cut off marks.

However, you should know that Delsu is highly favorable to candidates, which means thousands choose the school, as their most preferred institution during UTME Registration. Now, due to the high number of Applicants wishing to study in the Delta State University, the admission processes is competitive and an admission is given based on JAMB score and candidate’s O’level grades.

Below are courses offered in the university as well as their cut off mark;

  1. 220 – 240 – Medicine (O’ Level result with one sitting only) and Nursing
  2. 200 – Mass Communication, Common Law, Pharmacy, Anatomy, Physiology
  3. 190 – Computer Science, English Language, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Geology, all engineering courses except Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering.
  4. 180 – All other courses
